Finish 4th at Robert Morris Invitational
April 8, 2003 SEWICKLEY, Pa. - American University finished 4th at the Robert Morris Invitational out of 10 schools and were led by Phil Kief (Kingwood, Tx./Kingwood), who shot a 73 to claim a tie for eighth place. Kief’s score was the third lowest of the day, and quite a comeback from the 81 he posted just 24 hours earlier. Chris Schieffer (Wilmington, Del./Salesianum) shot a 71, tying him with Brett Gould of Dayton for the best score of the day. Coupled with a previous round of 86, Schieffer finished with a 157, good for a tie for 16th place with teammate Rob MacDonald (Reistertown, Md./Park). MacDonald finished with a 77 after posting an 80 the previous day. Seth Kaplan (Dallas, Tx./J.J. Pearce) finished 21st after posting back-to-back scores of 79. Mark Nihill (Buffalo, N.Y./Canisius) had a two-day total of 166. St. Francis took home honors with a team score of 315. Eric Couture of St. Francis and Brett Gould of Duquesne tied for first at 149.
