AU Finishes Tied for Seventh in Colgate Golf Invitational
Nihill leads squad as Eagles start fall campaign

Mark Nihill finished in a tie for 19th to lead the Eagles at the Colgate Invitational.

HAMILTON, N.Y. -- American's golf team began its fall season this weekend at the Colgate Golf Invitational. Playing in the two day event, the Eagles finished in a tie for seventh out of the 22 teams in the tournament.

Binghamton captured their third consecutive title at the event, firing a 589 at the Seven Oaks Golf Club. Lehigh was two strokes back in second while Ottawa was in third. AU tied Bucknell for seventh with a score of 623.

Mark Nihill paced American, finishing in a tie for 19th place at 152 (75-77). David Stone tied for 35th overall with a score of 156 (76-80).

Rounding out the American scoring were Phillip Kief in a tie for 39th (78-79 - 157), Chris Schieffer in a tie for 50th (82-77 - 159) and Seth Kaplan in a tie for 73rd (84-79 - 163).

American continues its fall season tomorrow at the American Invitational held in Rome, N.Y.
