Kief Top Scorer for American at Kauai Collegiate Cup

2004 | Stats Kief posted a 73 in the first day of competition and was tied for 7th after shooting a 37 on the front nine and 36 on the back. In the second round he followed with a 72, which tops his best effort ever at the Kauai Collegiate Cup. In 2003 his best was a 73 and he finished tied for 13th. After two rounds in 2004 he is tied for fourth with a 145, which is +1 for the course. Shagin shot a 75 for the first round and followed with an outstanding 71, which tied his for the second-best round of the day. Overall, Shagin has a two-round total of 146 and is just seven shots back from the lead. Chris Schieffer (Wilmington, Del./Salesianum) shot a 77 for the first round and followed with a 73 in the second. He is +6 for the tourney at 150 and just 11 shots in back of Western Kentucky's Sam Smith (139). Paul Servidio (Carmel, N.Y./Harrison) has shot an 85 and 82 after the first two rounds for a score of 167. British Columbia leads the way with a team-score of 586. However, Western Kentucky has the top individual as Sam Smith has posted a 139 after two rounds. The course (Princeville, Makai) is 6,886 yards and a par 72. The Eagles will finish the tourney tomorrow morning.
