CENTER VALLEY, PA -- American's golf team had a tough showing at the Stabler Collegaite Invitational this weekend, placing 17th overall. Lehigh, the host institution, claimed team honors with a seven-over par 583 total. Princeton finished second, 10 shots off the winning pace, while Penn, Temple, and St. Bonaventure tied for third at 595. Played at the Center Valley Club, which features a par 72, 6,500-yard layout, American finished at 641. Chris Schieffer paced the Eagles, finishing in a tie for 55th place at 158 (79-79). Wes Cupp tied for 64th overall at 160 (75-85). Rounding out the American scoring were Matt Michaels in 76th (82-80-162), Seth Kaplan in 78th (83-80-163) and David Stone in 83rd (83-83-166). American closes the fall portion of its 2001-02 schedule at the UMBC Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 29-30. Tee times begin at 8:00 a.m.
