  Kelvin Jefferson

Kelvin Jefferson enters his fourth season as a member of head coach Jeff Jones' staff. Jefferson, who is now in his 10th season as a collegiate coach, joined the AU staff from the University of Vermont, where he served as an assistant for two seasons under head coach Tom Brennan.

A native of Norwalk, CT, Jefferson is a 1995 graduate of Southern Connecticut State University where he earned a bachelor of science in journalism. A standout on the men's basketball team, Jefferson led the New England Collgiate Confernece (NECC) in rebounding as a senior, while also serving as a team captain.

Following graduation, Jefferson began his coaching career as an assistant at Wesleyan (CT) University. He then spent a year at Salem State (MA) and went on to serve as the top assistant at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy for two years. For three straight seasons- one at Salem St. and two at the U.S.M.M.A., Jefferson helped lead his teams to the Division III NCAA tournament. In addition, the Salem State club advanced to the Division III Sweet 16.

A tireless recruiter who is well connected, Jefferson is also a regular a several basketball camps and clinics throughout the Northeast.

Jefferson and his wife, Chiquita, reside in Silver Spring, Md., with their three-year-old son, Jaedan.
