2002 team captain ...eanred Patriot League Second Team honors in his first year in the league ... a talented local player who stepped in right away to run the point last year ... is a scoring point guard, who will play off the ball some this season ... is a defensive wizard who has great instincts ... can control the flow of the game from the point guard position ... outstanding in the open floor and is a one-man press breaker ... he along with Steven Miles will be looked upon to provide plenty of scoring from the backcourt.

In the league Stokes finished 2nd in FT percentage (.880) and third in three-point FG percentage (.387) .... he was second in steals with 54 in 30 games (1.54 per) ... in conference games only he was seventh in FT percetage (.851) and third in three-point shooiting (.441) ... (Had four rebounds and three assists in the season-opener at Maryland (11/17) ... snagged two steals at St. Francis (Pa.) Played as a freshman and sophomore at Tallahassee (Fla.) Community College ... was coached by Mike Gillespie ... named All-Panhandle Conference First Team as a sophomore ... averaged 9.7 points, 4.1 assists and 3.0 steals per game ... started 30 of 31 games ... shot a team-high 86.0 percent from the free-throw line ... finished third on the team with 62 steals ... led team to a 29-2 overall record and the Panhandle Conference Championship ... team also appeared in its second straight FCCAA/NJCAA Region VII Championship game ... quarterbacked a high-powered offensive attack that scored over 100 points seven times, while averaging 88.7 per game ... played scholastic ball for Einstein High in Silver Spring, Md. ... coached by Crawford Clark ... averaged 16 points, eight assists, and four steals per game as a senior ... won the team’s Leadership, Defensive Player of the Year and Most Valuable Player Awards.
