Tennis Cruises Past University of Pennsylvania
Feb. 15, 2004 | Results FAIRFAX, Va. - Double partners Tushar Garg (Mumbai, India / Bradenton Academy) and Andreas Kulscar (Nuremberg, Germany/Neues Gum. Nuremberg) took home their 42nd career doubles victory and broke the AU record for career doubles wins, as they defeated David Lynn and Mikhail Bekker of University of Pennsylvania, 8-5. Kulcsar also helped the Eagles defeat the Quakers, 4-3. Despite dropping the first set 1-6, Kulcsar was able to come back in the second and third sets to secure the victory in the No. 4 position, winning 1-6, 6-0, 6-3. Guillaume Tarralle (Paris, France / French International School) also took home a singles victory in the No. 2 spot, defeating Mikhail Bekker, 6-3, 6-4, while Jonah Fliegelman (Philadelphia, Pa. / Central) captured his fourth straight victory in the No. 5 spot, defeating Justin Launer, 6-7, 7-6, 6-1. Fliegelman also took home a doubles victory, defeating Craig Rubin and Lecher, 8-4. With the 4-3 win, the Eagles improve to 3-2 for the season and will next take on University of Pacific at 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 21. The match will be played at the University of Virginia.
