WASHINGTON, D.C. - The AU men's tennis team picked up the first home victory of the season Monday, as they toppled the Howard University Bison's, 7-0.

Senior Jonah Fliegelman (Philadelphia, Pa. / Central) helped the Eagles to victory as he picked up his seventh straight victory in singles, defeating Jibade Thomas, 6-4, 7-5. In doubles Fliegelman and partner Andrew Singer helped the Eagles notch the doubles point, defeating the Bison's No. 3 team in a perfect 8-0.

Also in doubles, seniors Tushar Garg (Mumbai, India / Bradenton Academy) and Andreas Kulcsar (Nuremberg, Germany/Neues Gum. Nuremberg) garnered their 44th career doubles victory and third straight, defeating Kenneth Brown and Andrew Smith, 8-3, in the No. 1 position. In singles action, Garg defeated Smith in the No.2 spot, with the Eagles only three-set match, 6-2, 4-6, 10-8, while Kulcsar defeated Carter in the No. 4 spot, 6-2.

Rounding out the victories for the Eagles, Guillaume Tarralle (Paris, France / French International School) defeated Brown in the No. 1 position with a perfect 6-0 match, while Juancarlo Vazquez (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Centre Educativo de Superior Vocational/Saint John’s) defeated Othmane Garma in the No. 3 spot, 6-4, 7-5. Singer rounded out the sweep of the singles action, defeating J. Patrick Rogers, 6-2, 6-1.

The Eagles improve to 4-4 for the season and will return to the courts Thursday, March 18 at 2:30 p.m. against the University of Richmond.
