MIAMI, Fla.
- With
only two wins in singles, the AU men's tennis team fell in a tough 5-2
battle against No. 49 ranked Miami, Tuesday at the University of Miami's
Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
The Eagles are now 12-6 overall with one match left in the regular season.
After taking on Florida Atlantic University, Wednesday at 2 p.m., the
Eagles will return to Washington to host the Patriot League tournament
April 24-25.
Senior Guillaume Tarralle
(Paris, France / French International School) took home one of AU's only
victories, defeating John Hoyes in a tight three match set that came down
to a 10-8 final set.
Sophomore Sebastian Priosy
took home the Eagles other victory, defeating PJ Passalacqua, 6-2, in
a one set match. Falling in all three doubles matches, the Hurricanes
swept the Eagles for the point.
In the first round of the Patriot League tournament, the Eagles will face
Navy, Saturday April 24 at 9 am. The last time the two teams met, AU swept
the Mid's, 7-0. If American defeats Navy, they will move onto the Patriot
League finals, Sunday at 9 a.m. against the winner of the Army/Colaget
match.
