HAMILTON, N.Y. - A win in doubles by Tushar
Garg (Mumbai, India / Bradenton Academy) and Andreas
Kulcsar (Nuremberg, Germany/Neues Gum. Nuremberg) in the No. 1 position
was not enough for the Eagles as they dropped their first Patriot League
match, 4-3, to the Colgate Raiders.
The Eagles were able to being the match strong, winning the doubles point
with two close 9-8 (3) wins in the first and third position, but with
only two singles wins, it was not enough for American.
Jonah Fliegelman
(Philadelphia, Pa. / Central) and Ruben
Rivero (Sevilla, Spain / Suffolk County Community College) took home
the second doubles victory in the third spot, while in singles, Garg and
Sebastian Proisy (St. Nom
la Breteche, France) took home the only wins in the second and sixth spots,
respectively.
The Eagles are now
9-5 overall and 3-1 in the League. With the win, Colgate moves into first
place in the league.
