AU Swimming and Diving Runs for Charity
Linnoila takes first in age group

WASHINGTON -- The American University men's and women's swimming and diving team and alumni members recently competed in the Spring Valley/Summer Community 5K Classic to raise money for Children's Hospital.

"It was a great day to race and our team showed a great amount of enthusiasm and strong efforts," said Head Coach Mark Davin.

AU's William Linnoila and Kyle Tayor were first and third, respectively, in the 19-and-under male age group while Christina Huang was second and Brennan Hogan nabbed third place in the 19-and-under female age group.

Ethan Bassett came in first among American University swimmers, finishing the race in under 20 minutes in 19:40.

Other current or former members of the AU squad who ran and raised money were Erik Hollingshead, Erwan Jeoffroy, Christina Huang, Mike Lawson, Adam Schryver, Lindsay Metcalfe, Jessica Lidstrom, Kia Kilpinen, Dan Sinetar, Seth Bell, Dom Szabo, Julia Pollock, Liz Lockwood, Estebe Salgado, Steve Maher, Christine Mikulski, Kim Nichols, Jaimie Lambert, Liz West, Liz Bresnahan-McRae, Mark Liscinsky, Lindsay McDavitt, Maria Ortiz, Sara Barger, Cassie Cullen, and Chelsea Oudin.
