Liscinsky and Schryver Honored by PL and ECAC
Eagles sweep men's Division 1 swimming & diving accolades

WASHINGTON -- Senior Mark Liscinsky (Olney, Md./Sherwood) and junior Adam Schryver (Harrington, N.J./N. Valley Old Tappan) were honored twice this week by the Patriot League and the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC).

Liscinsky was named the Patriot League Male Swimmer of the Week for the second time this season and and the ECAC Division 1 Male Swimmer of the Week. Schryver was named the Patriot League Diver of the Week and ECAC Division 1 Male Diver of the Week.

In a key 122-121 win over Lehigh Friday afternoon, Liscinsky led the Eagles with three wins over the Mountain Hawks while setting a pair of records at Jacobs Pool. Schryver garnered first and second place in the diving events.

Liscinsky established pool record-setting times in both the 50-yard freestyle (21.30) and in the 100-yard freestyle (45.88). He was also first in the 200-yard backstroke 1:54.27.

Schryver finished with 203.03 points for the win the 1-meter diving, earning 13 more points than the runner-up. He was second in the 3-meter event with 227.40 points.

American will next compete at Virginia Tech with West Virginia on Jan. 25 at 1 p.m.

American University, which fields a 19-sport NCAA Division I athletics program featuring 10 women’s sports and nine for men, recently completed its inaugural year of membership in the Patriot League. The University had an extremely successful year to date on respective fields of play, capturing league championships in men's cross country, women's cross country, men’s soccer, women's soccer, women’s volleyball, men’s tennis and women’s tennis, and regular-season titles in men’s basketball and women’s lacrosse.
