Liscinsky
Ranks Seventh in Recent PL Swimming & Diving Point-Getters
May 21, 2003 WASHINGTON — American University senior Mark Liscinsky (Olney, Md./Sherwood) ranks seventh among among male scorers at the Patriot League Swimming & Diving Championships in the past four years. Because the Eagles did not officially join the league until the 2001-02 season, none of his Colonial Athletic Association points were added. Liscinsky, who qualified for NCAAs and was the 2002 and 2003 Patriot League Male Swimmer of the Meet, earned a total of 120 points during his junior and senior campaigns. His even 60-point split each year tied for the highest of any student-athlete, male or female, in a single season. Army’s Dan Downs accumulated 60 points in his freshman year. Lehigh’s Bing Padmasankha led all with 202 career points in the Patriot League Championships. Liscinsky registered six wins and set four meet records (100 and 200 backstroke, 200 IM and 200 freestyle). He also owns four program records and was invited to the U.S. Nationals. American University,
which fields a 19-sport NCAA Division I athletics program featuring 10
women’s sports and nine for men, is in its second year of membership
in the Patriot League. Since joining the Patriot League, the University
has captured league championships in men’s cross country, women’s
lacrosse, women’s cross country, men’s soccer, women’s
soccer, men’s tennis, women’s tennis and women’s volleyball,
and a regular-season title in men’s basketball.
