Ethan Bassett Wins Patriot League Swimmer of the Week
Senior Claims Three Individual Victories Against Army

Bassett wins first award this season.

WASHINGTON– Eagles Senior Ethan Bassett (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill) received the Patriot League Men’s Swimmer of the Week award this week for his performance in Saturday’s meet against Army.

Bassett wins the award for the first time this season after posting three individual victories in American’s 153-140 loss to Army. He opened the meet with the 1,650 freestyle with a time of 15:45.88, beating runner-up Kevin Burke of Army by nearly one minute. Bassett then went on to win the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:53.94, finishing with a time of 2.5 seconds faster than the second-place finisher. In his final individual event of the meet, Bassett won the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:01.36. He also anchored the 4X free.

In the Eagles next meet, they swim Bucknell and Navy at the Naval Academy on Nov. 14 at 6 p.m.
