WASHINGTON–
The AU swimming and diving team placed eight members on the Patriot League
All-League Team, including four men and two women on the first teams,
league officials announced Friday.
Leading the way for the Eagles with two first place finishes, one second
place finish and a two NCAA 'B'
cuts at the conference meet, senior Ethan
Bassett (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill) garnered his second consecutive
First Team All-Patriot League nod.
Fellow senior Erwan Jeffory (Mareil-Marly, France/Lycee Jeanne D'Albret)
was also placed on the first team All-Patriot League for his first place
finish and Patriot League record in the 500 freestyle and a second place
finish in the 200 freestyle. Rounding out the first team for the men,
freshman Stephen Brennen
(Murraysville, Pa./Franklin Regional), who took home two second place
finishes (200 IM, 400 IM) and a third (200 back), for 50 points for the
team.
On the women's side, junior transfer Cami
Miller (Mission Hills, Kan/Shawnee Mission East/ Kentucky) garnered
a spot on the first team with the top spot in the 1,650 freestyle, while
Jessica Lidstrom (Stockholm,
Sweden/The Swedish School in London) earned her second consecutive spot
on the All-League rankings with a third place finish in the 200 free,
a fourth place finish in the 100 free and a seventh place finish in the
200 IM.
On the second team All-Patriot League for the women, Kaitlin
Moughty (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug) earned a spot after a break-out
conference meet, finishing second in the 200 free, fourth in the 200 back
and 10th in the 200 IM.
Overall at the conference meet, the men's team finished fifth overall,
while the women finished sixth.
