Women's Track Competes at PVA Collegiate Invitational Jan. 27, 2002 | Meet Stats LANDOVER, Md. American's women's track team continued its outstanding season Sunday at the PVA Collegiate Invitational at the Prince Georges Sports and Learning Complex. Competing against college teams as well as unattached athletes, the Eagles earned one school record and seven additions to the top-ten list. Freshman Megan
Simpson finished third in the 800-meter run in a school record 2:23.25.
She broke her own mark, set just two weeks ago, by over three seconds.
Simpson holds two school records (800 and 1,000-meters), is a part of
the school record 4x400-meter relay, and is second all-time in two events
(400-meters and mile run). Other athletes moving into the record book include Sandra Bozik who stands fifth all-time in the 200-meter dash after running 30.58 on Sunday. Liz Krashes is now third all-time in the 400-meter dash due to her 1:05.67 performance. Megan McCoy improved her personal best in the shot put, throwing 23' 3/4", keeping her second all-time. The womens team return to action on Feb. 16-17 at the Patriot League Championships in West Point, N.Y.. The meet gets underway at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
