STANFORD, Calif. American University junior Sean O'Brien will be returning to the NCAA Championships for the second year in a row after running 3:41.29 in the 1,500-meters at the Cardinal Qualifier on the campus of Stanford. O'Brien, who was an All-American last year, finished third in the meet as he broke his own school record by over a second. He finished second in his heat and was the second collegiate runner in the race. O'Brien now holds the fourth fastest time in the country in the 1,500-meters. Freshman Sean Duffy ran a personal best time of 3:44.03 at Stanford. He finished fourth in his heat and 11th overall in the meet. Duffy's time provisionally qualifies him for the NCAA Championships and he holds one of the top times in the country this year. The Eagles track season continues today as a number of members will compete at the JMU Invitational. Next week, American will head to the ECAC/IC4A Championships in Princeton, N.J.
