Sets School Record In 1000-Meters January 11, 2003 | Stats
PISCATAWAY, N.J. Freshman Keira Carlstrom claimed her second school record of her young career as the American women's track and field team returned to action. The Eagles had three other marks added to the all-time top-10 lists at the meet. Carlstrom won the 1000-meters, edging Meghan O'Neill of Georgetown by half a second. Carlstrom broke the old school record by over seven seconds, running 2:55.1. Also in the event, Zaia Wharton moved to third all-time, placing fourth in 3:03.4. Leah-Heinecke Krumhus finished seventh in 3:16.0. Jen Baclawski ran a personal-best time in the 3000-meters, running 10:25.3 to place fourth in the meet. Jessica Daniel finished 14th in the event, running 11:41.2. In the 200-meters, Katie Bassler moved to fifth all-time, placing third in the meet in 29.5. Mary McLaughlin was fourth in the event, running 31.1. Catie Poppe moved to fifth all-time in the 400-meters, placing fifth in 1:07.8. In the mile, Whitney McNees placed seventh, running 5:30.3. American's next meet is next weekend at the Lehigh Triangular. The meet begins at 11 a.m.
