The foursome of seniors Andy Ellerhorst and Sean O'Brien, sophomore Sean Duffy and freshman Phil Gaeta finished in a time of 9:38.18 and improved on their seeded place of 10th. Duffy ran the leadoff leg of 1200-meters in 2:55 before handing off to Ellerhorst. The AU senior covered the 400m distance in 48 seconds before passing the baton to Gaeta. Running 800m, Gaeta split 1:51 and handed off to O'Brien. O'Brien covered the mile in 4:02 to help the Eagles finish eighth. Villanova won the race with Stanford a close second. AU defeated Arkansas, Notre Dame, Texas and Eastern Michigan in the race. Already a two-time outdoor track All-America honoree, O'Brien adds his indoor honor to his impressive resume. AU now has seven track All-Americans in school history and 31 All-America honorees in all sports. The NCAA Championships concludes the indoor track and field season for AU.
