Carlstrom earns All-American honors by placing seventh in Junior Nationals 3000m

PALO ALTO, Calif. - At the USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships, Sean O'Brien (Tewksbury, Mass./Winnisquam Regional) advanced to the finals of the 1500m. Running 3:48.25 in a very tactical race, O'Brien placed 12th.
The race started slow with the entire field running the first lap in 62.9 seconds. After coming through the 800m mark in 2:07.4, the pace began to drop. O'Brien made a move with 200m to go, but could not hold on as he finished in 12th place.
Freshman Keira Carlstrom (Oakton, Va./Oakton) ran in the USA Junior National Track and Field Championships in the 3000m. With All-American honors handed out to the top eight finishers, Carlstrom placed seventh in a time of 9:57.65.
