Carlstrom Finishes First in Mile at GMU's Father Diamond Open Invitational
Kelley Taylor, Whitney McNees also compete

FAIRFAX, Va. — American University sophomore All-America Keira Carlstrom (Oakton, Va./Oakton) on Saturday won the women's one mile run at George Mason University's Father Diamond Open Invitational.

Carlstrom captured the victory in a time of 4:47.81, besting runner-up Alisa Harvey, who ran unattached, by nearly five seconds. Meanwhile, freshman Kelley Taylor (Virginia Beach, Va./Kellam) finished third in a time of 4:59.54. Whitney McNees (Pennington, N.J./Hopewell Valley Central) finished 13th, in a time of 5:18.38.

The women's indoor track team next competes at the Maryland/PVA Invitational on Jan. 24. The men's team will compete at the Navy Invite on the same day.
