Women Compete at UVa./Lou Onesty Invite April 10, 2004 | Men's Results | Women's Results CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. American's Kelley Taylor (Virginia Beach, Va./Kellam) won the 1500m race and Matt Barresi (Laurel, Md./Atholton) finished second in the 5000m race to lead the women's team to a 11th-place finish and the men's team to a 17th-place finish, respectively, Saturday at the Lou Onesty Invite hosted by the University of Virginia. Taylor, a freshman, finished in a time of 4:35.72, a personal best by nearly five seconds. In addition, Zaia Wharton (Elkins, W. Va./Elkins) finished second in the 800m race in a time of 2:11.92. Taylor and Wharton combined for 18 of the Eagles 28 points on the day. For the men, Barresi picked up eight points with his finish in the 5000m in a time of 15:04.51. Phil Turner (Reedsburg, Wis./Reedsburg Area) finished seventh in the same race, completing the course in 15:23.82. AU men's and women's track teams return to action April 22-24 at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia.
