Sunny Newsome begins her second season as an assistant coach at American. A 1998 graduate of North Carolina State University, Newsome is currently an accounting manager at the New Federal Credit Union.
Originally from Staten Island, N.Y., Newsome ran for the Wolfpack for four years in both cross country and track & field. Since graduation, she has trained under Coach Centrowitz as a member of the Reebok Enclave from 1998-2000, and she continues to train under Centrowitz's direction today.
Newsome currently resides in Arlington, Va.
