WASHINGTON -- In American University volleyballs first-ever televised match, the Eagles dominated visiting Patriot League rival Navy, 3-0 (30-24, 30-18, 30-14). With the win, American extends its current win streak to nine matches and improves to 7-0 in the league and 14-2 overall. The Eagles recorded a scorching .430 hitting percentage to the Midshipmens mark of .120 and picked up seven blocks in the win in front of 1,136 fans at Bender Arena. Sophomore Karla Kucerkova (Olomovc, Czech Republic/Brno) had an outstanding game with a match-high 17 kills and a .517 attack percentage. Freshman Natacha Cornaz (Lausanne, Switzerland/Gymnase Auguste Piccard) recorded match highs with 10 digs and four service aces. Junior Judit Szekelyhidi (Ujszentivan, Hungary/Szegedian Club) picked up three block assists along with six kills for American while setter Sabrina Vasconcelos (Fortalezza, Brazil/Colegio Christus) recorded seven kills to go along with her 29 assists. Navy falls to 3-4 in the Patriot League and 6-10 overall. American remains
at home to prepare for a Patriot League contest against the visiting Holy
