Volleyball Wins 11th Straight, Remains Perfect in League

Eagles defeat visiting Army to keep winning streak alive

Karla Kucerkova led the Eagles past Army with a team high 15 kills and helped the Eagles keep their winning streak alive.

WASHINGTON --The Eagles extended their winning streak to 11 matches and remain perfect in Patriot League competition with a 3-0 win against the visiting Black Knights of Army on Saturday at Bender Arena. Scores of the match were 30-22, 30-18 and 30-18.

American improves to 9-0 in the league and 16-2 overall while extending its home winning streak to 13 matches.

Sophomore Karla Kucerkova (Olomovc, Czech Republic/Brno) led the Eagle offense with a game-high 15 kills and also anchored the defense with a team-high eight digs. Eneida Muzaqi (Elbasan, Albania/Qwmal Stafa) and Judit Szekelyhidi (Ujszentiva, Hungary/Szegedian Club) each added nine kills in the win.

Army was led by Leah Shubin, who registered nine kills, and Beth Bellinger who tied a game-high eight digs. The Black Knights fall to 5-4 in the Patriot League and 8-9 overall.
