American Volleyball Pushes Win Streak to 12
Eagles power past Howard, 3-0

WASHINGTON -- The American volleyball team kept up its winning ways on Tuesday by posting a 3-0 non-conference win at Howard University, extending its current winning streak to 12 straight matches. Scores of the match were 30-19, 30-15 and 30-15.

American (17-2, 9-0 Patriot League) posted a .361 hitting percentage while holding the Lady Bison to a -.045 mark on the night.

Sophomore Karla Kucerkova (Olomovc, Czech Republic/Brno) led the Eagles with a game-high 11 kills and eight digs. Freshman Daria Bobko (Moscow, Russia/S.W. School #783) recorded a .500 hitting percentage with seven kills and Patriot League Player of the Week Judit Szekelyhidi (Ujszentivan, Hungary/Szegedian Club) notched six kills and a .364 attack mark.

Howard managed just 22 kills to the Eagles’ 42 in the loss and falls to 7-15 on the year.

American returns to Patriot League action with matches at Colgate, on Friday at 7:00 p.m., and at Bucknell, on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
