HAMILTON, N.Y. -- American volleyball defeated Colgate tonight, 30-28, 30-21, 30-22 and improved to a perfect 10-0 in Patriot League play. Karla Kucerkova (Olomovc, Czech Republic) had a team-high 12 kills in the match.
The Eagles rallied from a 16-6 deficit to claim the first game. American went on a 14-6 run, bringing the game to 22-20. They claimed their first lead of the game at 27-26.
American went on to claim games two and three to keep their perfect streak alive in Patriot League play. Sabrina Vasconcelos (Fortaleza, Brazil) had a match high 31 assists, while Judit Szekelyhidl (Ujezentivam, Hungary) added 11 kills for the Eagles, who notched a .260 team hitting percentage.
Amy Rawson led the Raiders with 23 assists and Elizabeth Aron had a team-high 13 kills on the night.
American returns to Patriot League action this evening when they travel to Bucknell to take on the Bisons at 7:30 p.m.
