American's Perfection in League Play Continues, Extends Win Streak to 14
Eagles Defeat Bucknell 3-0

Sabrina Vasconcelos had 29 assists Saturday night at Bucknell.

LEWISBURG, Pa. -- American volleyball continued its dominating Patriot League play, defeating Bucknell 3-0 to run its current win streak to 14. The Eagles are now 19-2 overall and 11-0 in the Patriot League. The Eagles won by scores of 30-18, 30-16, and 30-22. The magic number to clinch the Patriot League regular season title is sliced to two after the victory.

The Eagles used a 10-0 run in the opening game after being down 7-5. In the second game, American started out on a 15-4 run. In the final game, Bucknell closed to within four points at 24-20, but the Eagles put the match away by scoring six of the final eight points.

Freshman Sabrina Vasconcelos recorded 29 assists to lead the Eagles. Sophomore Natalie Hand had 10 digs to lead all players in the match. Senior Eneida Muzhagi and Junior Judit Szekelyhidi led the Eagles with nine kills each.

Shannon Walker led the Bison with eight kills and Whitney Williams had a team-high 17 assists.

American returns to Patriot League action November 2nd as the travel to Lafayette to take on the Leopards at 7:00 p.m.
