WASHINGTON -- The American volleyball team extended its win streak to six matches as it rolled over Lehigh, 3-0, on Friday at Bender Arena. Scores of the match were 30-22, 30-16, 30-26.
With the win, the Eagles remain perfect in Patriot League play with a 5-0 mark and improve to 11-2 overall.
Sophomore Karla Kucerkova (Olomovc, Czech Republic/Brno) led the Eagle attack with 16 kills and a hitting percentage of .583. Classmate Sabrina Vasconcelos (Fortalezza, Brazil/Colegio Christus) dished out 28 assists and helped American post a .304 attack percentage to the Mountain Hawks’ mark of .102.
Natalie Hand (Keizer, Ore./McNary) led the defense with eight digs.
Lehigh drops to 5-7
overall and 3-2 in the Patriot League. The Mountain Hawks were led by
Rochelle Healea who recorded 11 kills on the match.
American remains at home to take on the visiting Leopards of Lafayette
on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
