Sweeps James Madison In Women's Volleyball
Eagles upped
their record to 25-4 overall and 11-1 in the Colonial Athletic Association. HARRISONBURG, Va. - James Madison wrapped up regular season play on Saturday afternoon falling to conference opponent American University 15-9, 15-1, 15-8. JMU ends the season with a 19-9 record overall and 7-5 in conference play. American upped its record to 25-4 overall and 11-1 in the Colonial Athletic Association. Senior outside hitter Maria Zhuravleva (Yeketerinburg, Russia/Uralochka) led the way for the Eagles en route to their victory, knocking down 14 kills in 27 attempts. Senior outside hitter Ajola Berisha (Tirana, Albania/SK Tirana Club) tallied ten kills, six assists, eight digs and one block assist. Senior setter Silvia Panak (Anaheim, Calif./Long Beach State University) had 33 assists. Junior middle hitter
Danielle Heinbaugh (Irwin, Pa./Norwin) led the Dukes, recording 11 kills
in 24 attempts. Senior outside hitter Sara Leveen (Elmira, N.Y./Elmira
Free Academy) fired in 10 kills, tying her career match-high. Junior outside
hitter Larissa Daily (Darlington, Pa./Blackhawk) led the Dukes defensively
with nine digs.
