American Volleyball Falls to Temple, 3-1
Eagles lose for only the third time all season

Sophomore Karla Kucerkova posted 21 kills against Temple as wel as 12 digs.

PHILADELPHIA — American’s volleyball team (26-3, 4-0 Patriot League) tasted defeat for only the third time this season, losing to Temple (22-10, 10-6 Atlantic 10) 3-1 Saturday afternoon. The games were won by the Owls 30-22, 30-32, 30-23, and 30-18. Temple held the Eagles to just a .143 hitting percentage while they hit .387.

Sophomore Karla Kucerkova led the Eagles with 21 kills and 12 digs against the Owls. Freshman Sabrina Vasconcelos posted 30 assists for the Eagles.

Yamit Haba and Yun Xu played well for the Owls, recording 23 and 15 kills respectively. Allison Runk had 34 assists for Temple.

American now awaits the NCAA tournament selection to see who they will face in their next game. As the Patriot League champions, the Eagles receive an automatic bid to the tournament and will find out their opponent on Monday.
