season.
Dec. 7, 2000 WASHINGTON, D.C.: American University Volleyball's Ajola Berisha (Sr., Tirana, Albania/SK Tirana) was selected as an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division I Regional All-American as voted on by a regional committee and announced today. Berisha, earns her second All-Region nod after aiding the Eagles in their CAA regular-season title. She was selected as one of eleven East Region All-Americans and will now advance for national consideration. A two-time All-CAA First Team selection and a 1999 All-CAA Second Team selection Berisha earned her second CAA Player of the Year honor after hitting .317 during this season. Berisha was a two-time CAA Player of the Week selection this season and earned three All-Tournament Team honors and two Tournament MVP titles in the AU Volleyball Classic and Wildcat Classic. This is the tenth individual honor for Berisha this season. Due to the announcement that American University is changing to the Patriot League conference beginning in 2001, the Eagles were not been permitted to participate in the 2000 CAA Women's Volleyball Championships. The Eagles finished 26-4 overall and 11-1 in the CAA, dropping three of their four losses to top-20 nationally-ranked programs.
