AU Volleyball Cruises Past Lafayette, 3-0
Eagles clinch sixth straight win; improve to 6-0 in PL action

EASTON, Pa. — Backed by the strong play of junior Karla Kucerkova and freshman Cutrina Biddulph - who combined for 25 kills - the American University volleyball team handily defeated Lafayette College 3-0 Saturday night by scores of 30-13, 30-23, 30-17.

The Eagles improve to 14-6 overall and a perfect 6-0 in Patriot League play after knocking off Lehigh University Friday night to break the two-way tie at the top of the league. The Leopards drop to 1-18 overall and 0-6 in the Patriot League.

As a team, AU hit .311 compared with LC's .010 and recorded 49 digs to the Leopard's 29.

Kucerkova, the reigning Patriot League Player of the Week, had a game-high 13 kills to go with seven digs while hitting over 50 percent. Biddulph, a middle blocker, had 12 kills and seven digs.

Sophomore Courtney Mulford had 15 assists and Sabrina Vasconcelos added 11.

The Eagles are in action again Friday night at Navy for a 7 p.m. start.
