Mountain Hawks will face undefeated American in final

WASHINGTON — The No. 2-seeded Lehigh University volleyball team swept past No. 3 Bucknell University 3-0 Friday night in a Patriot League Championship semifinal at American University's Bender Arena. Scores of the individual games were 30-24, 30-27 and 30-24.
Lehigh earns the right to face top-seeded American in the championship Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. live in front of a Comcast SportsNet audience. Commentary will be provided by U.S. Olympic gold medalist Chris Marlowe and USA Today columnist Christine Brennan.
For the Mountain Hawks (21-12, 10-4 Patriot League), First-Team All-League performer Rochelle Healea tied a match-high with 12 kills and added 11 digs to complete the double-double. Katie Dukatz chipped in with nine kills while Lisa Furusawa had five kills while hitting over .500. Jill Kober produced a match-high 20 digs.
For the Bison, who close their 2002 season with a 15-13 overall record and a 9-5 Patriot League posting, Melanie Ghiz had 12 kills and Brandi Trapasso was clutch with 10 kills and 12 digs. Breean Trapasso and Chelsea Anderson each had 14 digs.
