WASHINGTON — Freshman Cutrina Biddulph (Reseda, Calif./Granada Hills), a middle blocker on the American University volleyball team, was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week for the first two weeks of the 2002 season.

At 6-4, Biddulph has stepped into the starting lineup, helping AU to a five-game winning streak after losing its first three to ranked opponents at the Louisville Classic. In eight matches she has recorded 19 service aces while racking up 47 kills and a .407 attack percentage.

After capturing the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore Tournament on Sunday, the Eagles will face No. 12 Wisconsin, No. 18 UC Santa Barbara and the host, the Duke Blue Devils, on Friday and Saturday at the Duke Classic. On Sept. 20 and 22, American hosts its own tournament, the American Volleyball Classic, with No. 6 Florida, No. 11 Penn State and Yale.
