Szekelyhidi and Mulford named to All-Tournament Team for Eagles

Judit Szekeylhidi had 22 kills at the American Volleyball Classic.

WASHINGTON — With two members of the American University
volleyball team named to the American Volleyball Classic All-Tournament Team, the Eagles finished the weekend 1-1 with a 3-0 loss to No. 3 Florida Sunday at Bender Arena with scores of 30-17, 30-11, 30-18 in front of a weekend crowd 1,877.

UF made good on .485 of its hitting attempts while AU hit -0.65. The Eagles compiled 108 total attacks while the Gators were more concise with 68.

All-Tournament selections senior Judit Szekelyhidi totaled 22 kills and sophomore setter Courtney Mulford had 56 assists and 12 digs for American.

The Gators put for a very balanced offensive attack with five members garnering at least five kills including Michelle Chatman and Jacque Robinson each with seven. Rachel Engel had 35 assists while Nicole McCray had four kills and a game-high eight digs.
