AU Volleyball Shuts out Bucknell, 3-0
Eagles run Patriot League streak to 33 straight matches

WASHINGTON - The AU Eagles defeated the Bison of Bucknell 3-0 (30-20, 32-30, 30-22) in an exciting match of volleyball. The Eagles have now won 33 straight Patriot League games.

The Eagles took the lead early in the game, and never gave up the lead, winning the game 30-20. During the second game Bucknell and the Eagles kept the game within just a couple of points of each other. Finally, the Bison pulled ahead and took a five point lead. The Eagles were able to come back and rally, finally taking the game 32-30.

Senior Karla Kurcerkova (Olomouc, Czech Republic/Brno) led the team with 18 kills, putting her total career kills at 1,458. She is within reach of the career kill record for AU, which is 1,660. She also had 13 digs, and 21 total attacks.

Junior Daria Bobka (Moscow, Russia/S.E. School No. 783), and Erin Allgaier (Kalamazoo, Mich./Kalamazoo Central) also played a strong games with 9 kills, and 8 kills, respectively.

The Eagles are now 8-8 overall, and 5-0 in the Patriot League. AU will be taking on the Red Raiders of Colgate tomorrow afternoon in Bender Arena at 2 p.m.
