American Sweeps UMES, 3-0
Kucerkova finishes with 20 kills in 32 attempts

Karla Kucerkova led all players with 20 kills versus UMES.

WASHINGTON - Senior Karla Kucerkova (Olomouc, Czech Republic/Brno) once again led the way for AU as the Eagles dominated the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, winning in three games (30-24, 30-21, 30-23). On Senior Night, Kucerkova notched 20 kills on just 32 attempts for a .531 hitting percentage. She also chipped in five digs and three block assists.

Sophomore Cutrina Biddulph (Reseda, Calif./Granada Hills) and junior Erin Allgaier (Kalamazoo, Mich./Kalamazoo Central) each had 10 kills versus UMES. Biddulph finished with a .333 hitting percentage and had two block assists while Allgaier added three digs and four assists.

Junior Natacha Cornaz (Lausanne, Switzerland/Gymnase Auguste Piccard) finished the match with eight kills and four digs while junior Sabrina Vasconcelos (Fortalezza, Brazil/Colegio Christus) led all setters with 27 assists. She also had three digs.

American was challenged the most in the first game as UMES went ahead early. However, Kucerkova helped the Eagles put together a run as they took the lead for good 19-18.

The Eagles are currently 19-9 overall and finished the Patriot League regular season 14-0. American will host the Patriot League Tournament Nov. 22-23.
