Volleyball Rolls Past Defending League Champ Bucknell

Eagles extend winning streak to four matches

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The American volleyball team extended its win streak to four matches with a 3-0 win over defending Patriot League Champion Bucknell on Friday at Bender Arena. Scores of the match were 30-15, 30-25, 30-19.

Freshmen Natacha Cornaz (Lausanne, Switzerland/Gymnase Auguste Piccard) and Daria Bobko (Moscow, Russia./S.W. School #783) led the Eagle attack with eight kills a piece while sophomore Sabrina Vasconcelos (Fortalezza, Brazil/Colegio Christus) dished
29 assists and connected for three service aces.

Sophomore Natalie Hand (Keizer, Ore./McNary) anchored the defense for American with eight digs.

The Eagles improve to 9-2 overall and 3-0 in Patriot League play while the defending league champion Bison fall to 6-5 and 2-1 in league competition.

American remains at home to take on Colgate on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
