WASHINGTON --
Katryn Costenbader (Silver
Spring, Md./Einstein) added another honor to her growing list as the Patriot
League named her its Player of the Week following an impressive run at
the 2001 AU Tip-Off Classic this weekend. She was named the Tournaments
Most Valuable Player after recording 45 points, 14 rebounds, and six assists
in two contests. Costenbader is a recent transfer from St. Marys College, where she averaged 14.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. A Silver Spring, Md., native, Costenbader was a four-year MVP selection and Academic Scholar while attending Einstein High School. The American womens
basketball team currently sits at 2-0 on the season. They will play at
Towson on Tues., Nov. 20, in their first non-tournament game of 2001.
