American (9-11, 4-4 PL) opened the game on a 23-9 run and only let the Raiders get within seven, 27-20, with 6:09 to go in the first half. Kaitlin Schuyler then took the game in her own hands, ripping off three consecutive three-pointers and scoring 16 first half points to give the Eagles a 44-25 halftime lead. The Eagles would go up by 20 points, 49-29, just three minutes into the second half but Colgate (10-13, 4-4 PL) would not go away that easily. The Raiders staged a 22-7 run, sparked by a three-pointer by Allison Lipinski and capped by a three-pointer by Victoria Briscoe, to bring the team within four, 56-52, with 9:30 to play. The Raiders would get as close as 56-54 on Milaina Lagzdins free throws with 8:45 to play but the Eagles took over, making nine-of-10 free throws during the last seven minutes. Schuyler and Hollie Steinman each finished with 16 points to lead five Eagles in double figures. Katryn Costenbader notched her third double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds while Maria Werries added 11 points and Chanel Hunt dumped in 10. Chanel Spriggs notched 11 points to go along with six steals, setting a new AU single-season record of 90. Leandra Fuller led Colgate with 16 points and Lipinski added 13 in the loss. American tips off a three-game road swing on Wednesday with a stop in West Point, N.Y., for a rematch against Army.
