Harmsen Named Patriot League Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week
American junior scored five goals in two games

Nadia Harmsen notched four goals and added an assist in the Eagles victory over Holy Cross on Saturday.

WASHINGTON — American University’s women’s lacrosse team received its first honors of the season from the Patriot League on Monday as junior Nadia Harmsen (Buzzards Bay, Mass./Tabor Academy) was named Patriot League Offensive Player of the week after scoring five goals in two games.

Harmsen leads the Eagles in goals with 10 and points with 11 through four games this season. Four of her goals came in a 10-6 victory over Patriot League opponent Holy Cross on March 9. Harmsen added an assist in the game as well. Currently, she ranks second in the league with a 2.50 goals per game average.

American is currently 2-2 overall and in first place in the Patriot League at 1-0. The Eagles’ next game is on Wednesday at Johns Hopkins before traveling to Bucknell on March 16 for their second Patriot League matchup of the season.
