American Wrestling Falls to Ohio University, Cleveland State
Hoffer, Bercovicz claim lone victories versus Cleveland State

ATHENS, OHIO -- American wrestling struggled in a tri-meet versus Ohio University and Cleveland State on Sunday at OU's Convocation Center, falling 49-0 to Ohio and 41-9 to Cleveland State. Marc Hoffer (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Central), ranked No. 15 in the nation by Intermat, added to his all-time career wins record with a win by forfeit over Anthony Coleman of CSU, making 115 career wins. Sophomore Aviv Bercovicz (Wauside, N.J./Cean Township) had the only other victory for the Eagles at the meet, defeating James Greenwood of Cleveland State by an 8-6 decision.

Senior standout Hoffer faced another nationally-ranked wrestler in Jake Percival of Ohio University, ranked No. 8 by Intermat in the 149 lbs. division. Hoffer ultimately fell by a 7-4 decision as Percival and the Bobcats dominated the Eagles on the day.

The Eagles are now 4-12 in dual meets this season. The Eagles will return home for their next meet on Sunday, February 17 versus Old Dominion and Buffalo. The tri-meet is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. in Bender Arena.
