Waters Takes Home Another Victory For The Eagles
Junior ranked third on NCAA Division I win leaders list

Daniel Waters is ranked third on the NCAA Division I win leaders list.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Ranked third on the NCAA Division I win leaders list and No. 27 overall in the 184 weight class did not slow down American University wrestler Daniel Waters (Laurel, Del./Penn State) as he took down University of Maryland’s Patrick Cissne in a 20-7 major decision, Wednesday at the University of Maryland.

Waters, a transfer from Penn State, is now 25-5 overall for the season. Also taking in a victory for the Eagles was Tom Kniezewski (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown), who won with a decision of 13-3 over Maryland’s Jerad Villecco.

Jared Hyman (Norcross, Ga./Norcross) also took home points for the Eagles in the 285 weight class, due to forfeit. Matt Pelligrino (Manalapan, N.J./Freehold) fell in a 4-0 major decision to Matt Pandullo, while Daniel Lobsenz (Fairfield, Conn./Choate) fell to Jason Gribschaw in a 6-2 decision.

Although the Eagle’s fell to Maryland 32-13, they will look to rally once again as they take on Wagner at Bender Arena at 6:00 p.m., Feb. 6.
