HAMPTON, Va.- American University wrestler Tom Kniezewski (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown) took home one of the only victories for the Eagles at the Virginia Duals on Friday, after taking down Dennis Whitby of Old Dominion by way of a pin in 2:55.

Junior Dainel Waters (Laurel, Del./Penn State), who was recently ranked No. 29 in the NCAA Division I Leglace poll for the week of Jan. 6 in the 184 weight class, took home the Eagles only other victory against Old Dominion as he took down Adam Wright in a 5-4 decision.

Adam Montgomery (Belmont, Calif./Junipero Serra) fought hard for the Eagles as he fell in a 10-8 overtime decision to Robert Valentine, while senior Matt Pelligrino (Manalapan, N.J./Freehold) also fought hard for a close 15-13 decision over Jared Smith.

The Eagles will have the opportunity to take on Old Dominion again as they host the Monarchs in the second dual meet of the season at Bender Arena on Thursday, Jan. 15 at 7:00 p.m.
