Waters Takes Home Outstanding Wrestler Award at Wilkes Open
Waters wins second major open title of the season

Daniel Waters took home the Outstanding Wrestler Award at the Wilkes Open.

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - Junior wrestler Daniel Waters (Laurel, Del./Penn State) became the first AU athlete to receive the Outstanding Wrestler Award of the Wilkes Open as he took home first-place in the 184 weight class after defeating Mike Greenberg of Lock Haven in 1:52.

This is the second time this season that Waters has taken home the title of his respected division in a major open tournament. Earlier this season the transfer from Penn State took home the title at the West Virginia Open.

Also participating in the open, senior Jared Hyman (Norcross, Ga./Norcross) placed fourth overall after falling to Tom Curl of Lehigh 4-3, in the third-place bout. Junior Eric Fantegrossi (Needham, Mass./Needham) also represented AU, going 2-2 overall.
