Wrestling Struggles Against Patriots
Feb. 16, 2004 | Results WASHINGTON - Senior Jared Hyman and junior Daniel Waters both garnered their sixth straight victories as the Eagles fell to George Mason University, 30-15, Monday at Bender Arena. Hyman, who broke the EIWA record for quickest pin against Gardner-Webb, defeated Ryan Kittrick with a 6-3 decision in the heavyweight division. Hyman now holds a 24-11 record for the season and is ranked No. 6 in the EIWA conference. Waters joins his teammate on the EIWA rankings, settling in the No. 5 spot for the week of Feb. 10. Waters took home his sixth straight victory for the Eagles as he crushed Nick Webster in the 184-pound weight class with a 11-2 decision and is currently ranked second for wins on Intermat Division I Win Leaders List. Matt Pelligrino earned his ninth win of the season as he crushed Ed Tan with his first tech fall of the season. Dwyane Hash-Barbaris also produced a victory for the Eagles as he defeated the Patriot's Sean Early with a 8-4 decision. The Eagles will host the final dual meet of the season on Saturday, Feb. 21 against the Campbell before heading onto the 100th EIWA Championships at the University of Pennsylvania, March 3-6.
