AU Wrestling Falls to Campbell, 23-20
Hyman and Waters increase winning streak to seven

Senior Jared Hyman garnered his seventh straight victory with a 8-4 decision over Campbell University's Dennis Campbell.

WASHINGTON - Senior Jared Hyman and junior Daniel Waters increased their respective winning streaks to seven, but it wasn't enough for the Eagles as the team fell to Campbell, 23-20.

Closing out his final regular season, Hyman opened the match leading Campbell in the first period, with two takedowns. Going into the second stanza, with the score at 4-2, Hyman fought hard, only to increase the score by one. As the dual came to a close, Hyman secured the victory with a takedown and closed the match with a 8-4 decision.

Waters, who currently is ranked first on the Intermat Division I Win Leaders List, remained scoreless in the first period against Lantz Nixon. Going into the second, Nixon grabbed an escape from Waters for the only point of the stanza. With a minute left in the match, Waters collected a takedown and an esape, to give him the 3-2 victory.

Starting the match at 197 for the Eagles, Adam Montgomery opened the action with a close 13-11 decision over Campbell's Justin Smith. Tom Knizewski also took home a victory for the Eagles with his seventh fall of the season at 2:19 over Elliot Berger in 149.

With three takedowns and two near falls in the first period, freshman Dwyane Hash-Barberis improved his season record to 11-11 with a techinical fall at 5:55 over Jon Kalafchi.

Finished with regular season play, the Eagles will next look to the EIWA conference competition, March 3-6 at the University of Pennsylvania.
