American Cross Country Places 20 on Patriot League Academic Honor Roll
Eleven men and nine women earn recognition

WASHINGTON --
Twenty student-athletes on American University’s men’s and women’s cross country teams were named to the Patriot League Cross Country Academic Honor Roll today. The athletes were among the 113 cross country athletes and the 480 total student-athletes recognized by the League.

To be eligible, for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average (GPA) in the fall semester and be awarded a varsity letter in one of the seven League-sponsored fall championship sports. The men’s team was third in the League with 11 student-athletes on the Honor Roll behind Bucknell and Lehigh, each with 13. The women’s team tied for second with nine honorees behind Bucknell with 14.

Junior Jose Morales led the way for the men with a 3.94 GPA in the fall semester. For the women, sophomore All-League honoree Jennifer Baclawski posted the top GPA at 3.72. Sophomore All-League selections Frank Malpigli and Matt Seymour posted GPAs of 3.74 and 3.85 respectively.
