Men’s Cross Country Places Third at Mount St. Mary’s
MacAdie places fourth to lead squad


Pat MacAdie placed fourth at the Mount St. Mary's Invitational.

EMMITSBURG, Md. — In its second race of the season, the men’s and women’s cross country squads ran at the Mount St. Mary’s Invitational. Patrick MacAdie was the top AU finisher, placing fourth to help lead the men to a third place team finish. Three women runners were led by Jess Daniel who placed 32nd.

MacAdie, a sophomore, had his best finish of his collegiate career in cross country, running 26:02.65 to place fourth. Carlos Hunt was the second Eagle finisher, placing 21st in 27:07.40. Close behind was freshman Pat Burford, running 27:24.91 in 26th place.

AU placed a pack of runners just 30 seconds later. Chris Repka was 36th in 27:50.63, Phil Turner was 37th in 27:58.01 and Jose Morales was 38th in 28:00.57. Rounding out the Eagle squad was Matt Barresi who placed 45th in 28:40.90.

American finished third with 101 points to finish behind Navy and Millersville.

Daniel led the way for the women, placing 32nd in 21:05.55. Whitney McNees followed, running 21:13.83 to finish in 37th. Lindsay Gilman was the third Eagle runner, placing 45th in 21:45.47.

American’s cross country squad returns to action next weekend at the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh and at the George Washington Invitational held at Bull Run Park in Virginia.
